At St. Matthew’s Lutheran adults of all ages are a very important part of who we are. We believe that people of all ages can be of important service to God and to our community.

Opportunities for adults to be of service to the church and involved with the community abound. Some choose to be involved on a regular basis such as hospitality hostess, Financial Recorder, or Tuesday Fix-it Crew (a group of people who get together to do maintenance projects in the church).

Other people choose to be part of our community by:
··· Mentoring children in our School-Age Child Care program
··· Driving homebound people to and from Church and other special events
··· Leading Bible Studies
··· Participating in an after church adult forum
··· Altar Guild
··· Communion Assistant
··· Music Programs

Our seniors’ program is called First Wednesday. They meet the first Wednesday of every month, September through May, for food, fellowship, and fun. The day begins with greeting friends, signing in, and blood pressure check at 10 AM. The entertainment begins at 10:30 AM and is a different program each month. Dinner is served about Noon and people are free to stay later to play cards, or whatever.
The cost for the dinner is $8.00. The menu also changes every month and includes everything from Swiss steak with mashed potatoes and gravy to lasagna and tossed salad. Each meal also includes vegetable, dessert and beverage. This program is open to all seniors from any congregation. For more information, please call the church office at 651-645-6700.
