Living Last Supper

"Even Jesus had a Men's Group."

There are several opportunities at St. Matthew’s for men to plug in.

Every Tuesday, a group of men gather to do all of the odd jobs of maintenance and repair. This group of Fix-It Men spends time addressing the multitude of things that need attention – from fixing a door to cleaning radiators to painting. Any one is welcome to join this group on Tuesday mornings.

Each year on Maundy Thursday, the men of St. Matthew’s present a re-enactment of the Last Supper. This presentation was featured in the St. Paul paper a few years ago. The setting is based on Da Vinci’s painting of the Last Supper and is complete with costumes and backdrop.

Each Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM, guys gather in the St. Matthew’s gym for basketball time. So far, this group has included just men, but women are not excluded. It is very informal and anyone is welcome to come. If you are looking for a chance to do something active, consider checking this out.

This year, the Men of St. Matthew’s are planning a fund raising spaghetti supper. The date has not yet been set, but it will be announced as soon as it is determined. This is a chance for the guys to share their skills in the kitchen and also provides some good fellowship.
